Combining two risk factors can increase predictive performance—combining current psychiatric diagnosis and single-cell accommodation gave a PPV of 0·7% (assuming risk factors are independent). It is unclear whether this predictive performance represents a clinically meaningful level of accuracy: the PPV is low, but could be useful in the context of a lower baseline prevalence of the outcome (which is less than 0·1% in England and Wales, UK, for example).
