Owleez is a flying baby owl interactive toy with lights and sound effects for kids aged 6+, it is easy and funny to operate. It’s a new toy from Spin Master (a leading children’s entertainment company ), and it was first introduced at a Toy Fair 2019 in New York. It has ultimate features like a unique pet, interactive nurturing toy, and the magic of flight, but it needs the help of a child all the way. Blue eyes – If his eyes turn blue, Owleez is cold, and he will make little shivery sounds too. To warm him up, children can press their hand against his forehead.

My gremlin was a little more unsure at first, as she was worried it was going to break but her Owleez was fine and always survived its flight. I did worry, I must admit if we would break one of the propellers but we never seemed to. The instructions are also very comprehensive and help with troubleshooting! Just a tad difficult to find the English bit sometimes.

You can expect to be able to get Owleez to fly around 4-5 times before need to be recharged. Like I mentioned above, she is rather clumsy to start off with and will crash into objects. She’s pretty robust though and we’ve not had any problems with any dents or broken bits. The bottom of the nest contains the USB cable that you need to pull out and connect to either a laptop or plug into a USB compatible plug. To charge Owleez, you simply make sure she is sitting in her nest. When she is charging her eyes will be red, they then glow green to let you know when she is ready to play. How do you play with Owleez? Other interactive elements include making him burp, fall asleep and sing, with Owleez really getting into his happy little song if he is feeling particularly chirpy. USB RECHARGEABLE: Forget nagging mums and dads for batteries, simply place Owleez in the nest to easily charge their internal battery with the built-in USB cord. Plus you can keep playing together while it charges! It can be used both indoors and outdoors, you just need a big enough indoor area for them to use while jumping. Although we’ve had very mild weather for October, the game is a good way to keep them busy active when it’s wet and miserable outside.

What are Owleez

Price-wise it isn’t a cheap toy but it works, its novel and great fun! I think as its so light it feels a little expensive but I guess it needs to be quite light to fly. When it comes to deciding on which of the toys and games that on the children’s wishlists will make it under the Christmas tree. I like to work out how interactive the toy will be, is it one that they will play with once or twice for it to lose its sparkle and end up on the shelf. Is it something that will help them learn through play (lessens the mum guilt of the kids playing with toys – instead of doing crafts, visiting museums and all that jazz). As well as it being something that they can all partake in. Whilst they do have their own toys, games and things, it is lovely to see them inter-mingle with their siblings once in a while. The instructions do say keep the nest at least 5 foot away from any obstacles, so that is probably wise to avoid crashing. By far the best part of the Owleez product is when it flies and as it practices it gets better, flying for 10 seconds as a maximum. My eldest and I I tested this out on our own when her baby brother was sleeping and we were screaming and laughing, it was that much fun. I guess I didn’t know what to expect!! This toy is the first interactive toy pet with flying features, it is very different and funny to play. As I am saying that this is an indoor toy, children can play inside the home without any problem with more fun and entertainment. Our Owleez review

The Owleez instructions were easy to follow, but the results were mixed! Owleez instructions advise that the more you practice with Owleez, the better he will fly, but in our case, I have to be honest and say we have seen much of an improvement in his flying, with us having never reached the full ten seconds of flight. Despite this, the girls have found him hilarious, and have enjoyed showing friends and family their toy bird that can actually fly across the room. To try and achieve the best flying conditions, you need to place the nest on a flat surface with plenty of space around. Owleez will then pop her head up to reveal her propellers. Be warned – this part is rather noisy! M has been living in his @TheRealTomGates pyjamas recently, and I think he might wear these when his World Book Day dress-up day comes around (the school celebrate with Book Week rather than just Book Day)⁠ Whilst it can be tempting to try and get started with the Owleez toy straight away, Owleez wont fly, may refuse to fly or wont fly very well if his battery is low, so as frustrating as it may be for the children to have to wait a little, this is definitely recommended to get the best out of the toy.
